About Wok & Talk

Wok & Talk was born out of a deep love for Southeast Asia’s vibrant hawker food culture. What started as a simple idea — to teach people how to cook iconic street food from the comfort of their homes — has grown into a passionate movement to preserve culinary heritage and bring people together through food.

We offer live Zoom cooking classes, easy-to-follow recipe packs, and a blog platform where people can share their own food stories, hawker stall reviews, and cultural experiences. Whether you're mastering char kway teow, recreating your grandmother’s sambal, or reviewing your favourite satay stall, Wok & Talk is here to celebrate it with you.

Our goal is simple:
make hawker cooking accessible to everyone, no matter where you are.

Our mission

We’re on a mission to preserve and promote the unique street food culture of Southeast Asia by empowering people to cook, share, and connect over their love for local flavours.

Through cooking classes, storytelling, and community engagement, we help people rediscover the rich heritage of hawker dishes — one wok at a time.

Our vision

We envision a world where street food culture is not just remembered, but actively celebrated. A world where learning to make mee goreng, nasi lemak, or satay at home is as easy and joyful as eating it at your favourite stall.

By blending tradition with technology, we aim to build a digital hawker community that spans generations and borders.
